Assignment
2) Remove one of your shoes, and place it on the table in front of you.
3) On your paper, draw your shoe.
- Draw from your perspective. Don't draw what you imagine your shoe would look like from the side or from above. Draw what you see, how you see it.
- Do not shade your drawing. Only draw lines. If there are shadows on your shoe, you can draw lines to represent those shadows but do not shade them in.
- Draw the details. Draw contour lines around the entire shoe and the parts of the shoe. Draw contour lines around the laces. Draw contour lines where the sole of the shoe attaches to the upper portion of the shoe. Draw contour lines to define the eyelets.
4) If you finish early, and you feel as if your work exceeds expectations: pick a few small areas of your contour line drawing (perhaps areas that represent shaded spaces), and add Cross-Contour Lines.
- Cross-contour lines should be curved lines that express the form of the area of your shoe that you are attempting to represent.
