Vocabulary
Vector Graphics: The use of geometrical objects such as points, lines, curves, and shapes, rather than a series of dots, to represent images in computer graphics.
Resolution: The measurement used to define the quality of a print, or display image on a monitor. Simply put, a printers resolution is measured in dots per inch (dpi), while the image displayed on a monitor is measured in pixels per inch (or ppi).
Margin (Gutter): Imprinted space around the edge of the printed material. Within the margin is the area where your main elements should be.
Crop (Cut, or Trim) Marks: Small printed crossed lines at the corners of a printed piece indicating where it is to be cut out of the sheet.
Bleed: Any element that extends past the edge of a printed page
